Being in a covenant relationship with another person can be one of the greatest adventures we experience in this life. However, like most adventures, there may be bumps in the road or storms on the seas. Sometimes, we need additional support from outside that relationship to help keep us on course. God is the author of relationship as He longs to be in relationship with each one of us. He offers us wisdom of how to act and react to others. Even more so, He desires to be in the center of that covenant relationship.
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12
As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. Ephesians 5:31-32
